Orlando Bloom Reacts To Nude Paddleboarding Photos
It’s been three years since those photos of Orlando Bloom paddleboarding naked with his then-fiancee Katy Perry went viral, but the actor is still talking about it. During an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show”, Bloom addressed the infamous moment and how it affected him.
“It’s been talked about so much,” Bloom told Stern. “I’ve done my fair share of interviews, and I’ve heard every version of the story. At the end of the day, it was just a bit of fun.”
Bloom said he and Perry were on vacation in Italy when they decided to go paddleboarding. Perry was wearing a bikini, and Bloom was completely naked. The paparazzi caught them in the act, and the pictures quickly spread across the internet.
“I had no idea there would be photographers there,” Bloom said. “But you know, I’ve been photographed a lot in my life. It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last.”
Despite the embarrassment of having his private moment captured by the paparazzi, Bloom tried to see the humor in the situation. He joked that he was “more embarrassed” by the fact that he couldn’t swim back to shore because he had no clothes on.
The incident didn’t seem to hurt Bloom’s career, as he continued to land major roles after the photos were released. But he admitted that it was a strange feeling to have something so personal become so public.
“I’ve always been someone who tries to keep my private life private,” Bloom said. “But sometimes things happen, and you just have to roll with it.”
At the end of the day, Bloom seems to have a healthy attitude about the whole ordeal. He knows that the photos will always be out there, but he doesn’t let them define him.
“It was a moment in time, and it’s part of my story,” Bloom said. “I don’t regret it, and I don’t think Katy does either. We were just having fun.”
